Tax Investigation insurance

Our Tax Investigation team includes tax professionals who have spent their entire professional careers dealing with tax investigations. All tax professionals within the Tax Investigation team are ex-inspectors of taxes who have spent many years in the tax profession and have assisted clients in dealing with a vast range of issues that require negotiation with HMRC.

We pride ourselves on our level of service and our attention to client needs. We strive to ensure that clients reach the end of a tax enquiry with the minimum of stress and disruption and only pay taxes that are properly due.

We act in matters ranging from:

  • Technical disputes with HMRC relating to a single issue
  • Formal enquiries dealt with at local HMRC level
  • The most serious cases where HMRC's Special Investigations office is involved.

Where other professional advisers are in place, we work with those advisers and seek to ensure that the relationship with adviser and client remains intact.

We can provide specialist help in dealing with HMRC in the following main areas:

  • Personal tax investigations
  • Corporate tax investigations
  • Special investigations
  • Voluntary disclosures
  • PAYE investigations

We offer our clients an insurance policy to cover our professional fees incurred as a result of dealing with these investigations.

Fee Protection covers:

  • Schedule 36 Interventions & Inspections
  • PAYE/NIC Employer Enquiries
  • VAT Enquiries
  • CIS, IR35 & Other Status Enquiries
  • Minimum Wage Enquiries
  • Business Records Checks
  • Inheritance Tax Enquiries
  • Directors & partners (including spouses & civil partners) covered under business policy.
